Global Trade 2010-2025

The first project:

September – December 2010.

A spontaneous start ignited worldwide interest in vintage racing bicycles. It all began with the complete restoration of a CIÖCC San Marco racing bike, discovered in a container filled with construction debris. The goal was to achieve an authentic, original-looking condition by meticulously restoring the existing components and replacing missing parts with period-correct alternatives.

DRUXS STAHLRENNRAD

TREND FOR THE WORLD

Restoration of vintage racing bicycles and accessories. This marks the renaissance of steel-framed racing bicycles worldwide. The first official shop dedicated WORLDWIDE to this was Druxs Stahlrennrad, which opened on September 1, 2011, in a backyard at TeLa 22 in Munich, Germany.

2012 – Renewal and Restoration of Vintage Bikes – Druxs Steel Racing Bicycles

A small 18 m² room became home to a miracle. Two people, side by side, dreaming of a new life together, joined forces and created a new business venture that fit perfectly into the emerging idea of recycling. The couple, who began reusing and reimagining discarded, low-cost racing bicycles—and rescuing the more valuable ones—unintentionally sparked a global trend.

With each sale, the refurbished steel-frame vintage racing bikes returned to the streets and quickly caught the attention of the younger generation. Since their prices were not much higher than those of poor-quality, characterless mass-produced bikes, the carefully restored, strong, and high-quality racing machines were often sold the very same day they were advertised.

Some worn frames, stripped of their old paint, were given historically faithful lacquering, while proudly bearing the original, era-authentic DRUXS lettering and decorations. And so, at the beginning of that year, the very first official DRUXS racing bicycles were born.
